Inside Out 2’ Makes Powerful U.K., Ireland Debut With 71% of Box Office

)According To The Daily) Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” made a huge debut in the U.K. and Ireland with £11.3 million ($14.3 million), according to numbers from Comscore.

In doing so, the anticipated sequel captured 71% of the box office and delivered the biggest box office opening since “Barbie.”

In its second weekend, Sony’s “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die” dropped down to second place with £1.8 million and now has a running total of £7.1 million. In its fifth weekend, Paramount’s “IF” earned £414,673 in third position for a total of £11.4 million.

In fourth place, in its sixth weekend, Disney’s “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” collected £388,500 for a total of £15 million. Rounding off the top five was Sony’s “The Garfield Movie” with £355,208 for a total of £7.8 million.

There were two debuts in the Top 10. MetFilm Distribution’s “Wilding” bowed in ninth place with £127,191 and Vertigo’s “Freud’s Last Session” in 10th with £72,989. This week, MetFilm and Amazon MGM Studios released “I Am: Celine Dion” on the Tuesday. Trafalgar Releasing is opening “Rite Here Rite Now” that combines live performance from Ghost’s sold-out Kia Forum shows in Los Angeles with a story that uses plot threads from the band’s long-running webisode series, on the Thursday.

On Friday, Vertigo is opening “The Exorcism,” headlined by Russell Crowe, where a troubled actor begins to unravel while shooting a horror film. His estranged daughter wonders if he’s slipping back into his past addictions or if there’s something more sinister at play.

Universal is releasing “The Bikeriders,” where, over the course of a decade, a Midwestern motorcycle club evolves from a gathering place for local outsiders to a sinister gang, threatening the original group’s way of life. The cast includes Austin Butler, Jodie Comer, Tom Hardy and Norman Reedus.

Studiocanal is opening “Something in the Water,” where, reunited for a destination wedding, five girlfriends decide to rent a boat to spend the day along the coast. However, when they get stranded in open water, they find themselves in a fight for their lives against circling sharks and Mother Nature.

Modern Films is bowing Agnieszka Holland’s multiple award-winning “Green Border” that follows a family of refugees from Syria, an English teacher from Afghanistan and a border guard who all meet on the Polish-Belarusian border during a humanitarian crisis in Belarus

Miracle/Dazzler is opening animation “Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black,” Kaleidoscope war film “Before Dawn” and Tull Stories documentary “Strike: An Uncivil War” that examines the U.K. Miners’ Strike of 1984/85.

The Bollywood release this weekend is Bakrania Media’s comedy-drama “Ishq Vishq Rebound.”
