With solid reviews from their “Scream” films, as well as their most recent horror, “Abigail,” you would imagine Radio Silence would stick with horror for their next feature. Well, you’d be wrong. It appears the filmmakers are ready to try their hand at comedy.

According to DeadlineAndy Samberg is set to star in a film titled “The Robots Go Crazy,” which will be produced and directed by Radio Silence. By Radio Silence, we mean filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, as well as producer Chad Villella. In addition to Villella, the Lonely Island crew is on board to produce the film. “The Robots Go Crazy” is written by Andrew Lanham.

There are no details about what “The Robots Go Crazy” will be about, but it is  being described as an action-comedy. Judging by the title, you have to assume that perhaps there’s a sci-fi angle, as well. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Samberg is probably best known for his stint on ‘SNL,’ as well as the beloved sitcom, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” More recently, he’s appeared in films such as “Self Reliance,” “Palm Springs,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and “Hotel Transylvania: Transformania.” His next film is “Lee,” where he stars opposite Kate Winslet.

Amazon MGM has picked up the rights to the film, but we still don’t know when it might enter production or get a release. You have to assume this one is going to theaters, as Radio Silence has yet to make a film that didn’t get a theatrical release.
